In response to the Federal Government's new privacy legislation that came into effect January 1, 2004 DEAF CENTRE MANITOBA INC'S privacy policy reflect this legislation.

DEAF CENTRE MANITOBA INC. is committed to safe guarding the privacy and the    protection of personal information, As part of our commitment to ensure the privacy of members of the public and employees, we do not sell or exchange   names or any other personal identifiable information about our members and employees with third parties.

At DEAF CENTRE MANITOBA INC. All personal information will be collected by fair and lawful means. Personal information shall not be used or disclosed for any purpose other than it was collected, without the written consent of the individual that for which emergency or, as required by law.

Personal information shall be retained only as long as necessary or as required by law for the fulfillment of the purposes for which it was collected.

Follow these instructions to install an Canada VRS button on your website so you can share this free service with your Deaf and Hard of Hearing community and members:

  • Download the attached vector file (the Canada VRS logo).
  • Choose a location on your website for the button. It’s important to choose a location that makes sense for you and your visitors’ needs. If you’re looking to promote Canada VRS, your homepage is a great location, specifically where you present news and new information. If you have a resources page, it may make sense to post it there as well.
  • Do not alter the logo’s shape or colours. You can, however, resize the logo depending on your needs. The attached vector file will allow you to resize the file without losing image quality.
  • Add the button to your website using your website’s content management system (CMS). The most common CMS is Wordpress, however your website may be using something different. Your web content manager should know how to add the button on your respective CMS.
  • Make sure your web content manager attaches a hyperlink to the button. This will take users to the Canada VRS website upon selecting the button. Make sure that your web content manager designates the hyperlink to open in a new window. The button should link to the following web address: http://srvcanadavrs.ca/en/
  • After you have positioned and linked the button, please add the descriptive text (shown above, beside the button) using live text. Please also link “click here” to http://srvcanadavrs.ca/en/
  • Have your web content manager publish the newly edited page on your website.

By sharing Canada VRS with your community via the Canada VRS button on your website, you’re also increasing accessibility and opportunity for your members and all Canadians. Thank you!
